About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider (CSOTP) in Virginia. Most of my work in the last 3.5 years involved working with pre-trial and post-conviction individuals who have committed sexual offenses; therefore, I have experience collaborating effectively with professionals from various disciplines, such as the Department of Social Services (DSS) and Probation & Parole (P&P).

As a therapist, I primarily work with adults of all ages on a wide range of mental health concerns, though I have worked with older teens on a situational basis. I have received training and gained experience in recent years working with neurodivergent clients. Moreover, being neurodivergent and Vietnamese-American has enabled me to work with clients from a neuroaffirming and culturally sensitive perspective.

My therapeutic style is grounded in Humanistic and Existential approaches, but I also incorporate other techniques to tailor my approach to client needs, such as CBT, Solutions-Focused, and Trauma-Informed methods. I enjoy focusing on client values through a strengths-based lens that promotes self-compassion in their journey toward meaningful change. I take pride in my background in psychology research and my ongoing passion for learning, which has enabled me to develop greater clinical intuition in this field. If I have learned anything in this field, it is that you not only gain insight into others’ experiences but also learn more about yourself. The mutual growth within a therapeutic relationship is truly unique, humbling, and rewarding.

As a passionate and motivated individual who values change, personal growth, and challenges, I aim to bring this energy to empower clients and work collaboratively as equals. With communication, patience, empathy, and optimism, I will strive to create a safe and non-judgmental environment and help us work toward your goals.

“Real change begins with ourselves; it requires awareness, motivation, commitment, and a continuous desire for growth to sustain meaningful change.”

~Kelly
